Former Husker center earns Pro Bowl selection

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Former Nebraska football center and current Philadelphia Eagle Cam Jurgens made the Pro Bowl earlier this week.

Jurgens has started in every game for the Eagles this season and was part of a historic rushing offense for the team. Running back Saquon Barkley rushed for over 2,000 yards in the regular season, and Jurgens was a big part of that.

Jurgens was recruited out of high school as a tight end. The Nebraska native was the sixth overall tight end in the 2018 recruiting class and the top player in his class from the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Rankings. Coach Scott Frost switched him to the interior offensive line in October 2018, and the rest is history.

Jurgens went on to have a solid NFL Combine and was selected by the Eagles with the 51st overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. His career is certainly on an upward trajectory, and this Pro Bowl nomination is proof of that.
