Michigan football gets commitment from D-II, in-state OL transfer

.

Michigan football is working to fill out its 2025 roster and with nine transfers incoming already (WR Donaven McCulley, DBs Tevis and TJ Metcalf, DT Damon Payne, OL Brady Norton, LB Troy Bowles, QB Mikey Keene, RB Justice Haynes, DT Tré Williams) the Wolverines made a quiet move on a 10th.

Lawrence Hattar was not a big name in the transfer portal, whatsoever. The Livonia, Mich. native has played for Division II Ferris State since 2022, but at 6-foot-5, 335 pounds, he’s a big body at a position of need along the interior offensive line.

And on Sunday, Hattar announced he’s committed to Michigan football.

Hattar had no snaps in 2024 according to PFF and had just 63 in 2023. Like Brady Norton, he may be a depth piece that’s going to require some development before he sees the field. Nonetheless, the Wolverines are working to build out the roster in preparation for fielding a more competitive team this upcoming season. And given the departures along the offensive line, the maize and blue need all the help they can get.
