Jan. 4—Stratford senior Taylor Arriaga was named the Inside Linebacker of the Year when District A-1 coaches released their All-District teams for the 2024 season.
Arriaga piled up 117 total tackles and had two quarterback sacks during his stellar senior campaign.
Four other Bulldogs earned 1st Team All-District honors.
Cale Stevens of Stratford was named 1st team offensive lineman. Stevens was a two-year starter at tackle. He had 46 tackles and two sacks on defense.
Justin Arriaga of Stratford was named 1st team fullback. Arriaga had 433 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns and 101 yards receiving.
Two Stratford players received 1st Team All-District honors on defense. Kyler Cantrell was named 1st team defensive line and Josiah Lester was named 1st team linebacker. Cantrell had 35 tackles and four sacks on the season while Lester finished with 72 tackles and a sack.
The Most Valuable Player of the district was Caleb Gideon of Christian Heritage Academy. BJ Palmer of Walters was named the Offensive MVP, Carson Littlejohn of Minco the Defensive MVP and Joel Franks of CHA was the Coach of the Year.
Other Players of the Year honors were: Quarterback — Gabe Holshouser, CHA; Running Back — James Beasley, Okemah; Tight End — Aiden Bailey, Wynnewood; Wide Receivers — Tate Campbell, CHA and Talon Sheffield, Frederick; Offensive Line — Jaxon Allison, Hobart; Defensive Line — John Jones, Walters; Outside Linebacker — Sawyer Davidson, Hobart; Corner Back — Chris Torres, Frederick; Safety — Brave Baker, CHA; Kicker — Nathan Dinwiddle, CHA; and Punter — John Jones, Walters.
Other 1st team offensive players were: Running backs — Willie Cramer, Frederick; and Caden Griffin, Walters; Wide Receivers — BA Amend, CHA; Zack Peel, Frederick and John Freeman, Walters; Tight End — Nate Thurman, Walters; and Offensive Linemen…
