Virginia lands former Michigan State football offensive lineman

Michigan State’s Kevin Wigenton II taps the foot of the Sparty statue while walking to the stadium before the football game against Central Michigan on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, in East Lansing.

Michigan State football lost Kevin Wigenton to the transfer portal during the coaching change before last season. Wigenton, who started six games at right guard in 2023 for the Spartans, ended up at Illinois.

After one season at Illinois, Wigenton is transferring once again, and he is landing at another power conference school. Virginia picked up the commitment of the former Spartan.

A New Jersey native, he will spend his final year of eligibility in Charlottesville.
