Arizona State football standout announces his decision for 2025 season

Arizona State will be getting one of its best offensive weapons back next season.

Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jordyn Tyson announced Monday on social media that he is returning next year.

“Run it back! Thank you Sun Devil Nation this is for y’all!” Tyson wrote on X.

Tyson had a breakout season in 2024, with 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns before fracturing his collarbone in the second half of the Nov. 30 game at Arizona. He missed the entire postseason.

The Sun Devils will return the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year, who had five games of 100 yards receiving. One of his biggest games came against Kansas State on Nov. 16, when he posted 12 catches for 176 yards and two touchdowns.

In the first six games, he totaled 25 catches for 369 yards and four touchdowns. In his last six games, he had 50 receptions for 732 yards and six scores.

ASU’s offense will lose a few key players with running back Cam Skattebo and center Leif Fautanu out of eligibility for next season. ASU made moves in the winter transfer portal to address the departure of Skattebo with the addition of Army running back Kanye Udoh.

Although Tyson was missed on offense, the Sun Devils made an improbable run to the College Football Playoff quarterfinal, but fell in a controversial double-overtime loss, 39-31, to Texas.
