A former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver who transferred to the Florida State Seminoles last season, Malik Benson is back on the move again, as the former top junior college prospect has now committed to the Oregon Ducks.
Benson, a senior, is another one of the top names across college football that is utilizing the extra year of eligibility given to former junior college players, a group that includes others such as Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia and Alabama linebacker Justin Jefferson.
Considered the nation’s No. 1 junior college prospect out of Alabama’s 2023 class, Benson spent only a season in Tuscaloosa in which he hauled in a total of 13 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown. Benson would transfer at seasons end as well, ending up at Florida State where he had a better season with the Seminoles, hauling in 25 receptions for 311 yards and a score.
The former Alabama wide receiver now projects to be an impact player for the Ducks in 2025 at the position.
