The 2024 NCAA college football season is almost over, as just three games remain on the schedule. With the Division I FCS, Division II and Division III seasons already over, we’re down to the final three games of the FBS season to decide a champion.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will face off against the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Capital One Orange Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal game on Thursday. Then, on Friday, the Ohio State Buckeyes will match up against the Texas Longhorns in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl for the other CFP semifinal. The winners of those games will play in the national championship game in Atlanta on Jan. 20.

With just four teams still playing, USA TODAY Sports staff writer Paul Myerberg decided to name his winners and losers of the 2024 bowl season. While the Oklahoma Sooners weren’t necessarily mentioned by name, they are included in one of the losers of the postseason.

Myerberg declared the Southeastern Conference one of bowl season’s big losers. saying:

The SEC could still end up big winners if Texas wins it all, but Sooner Nation would rather just about anything other than that happen over the next couple of weeks.
