Eight Beavers earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

Jan. 7—Eight student-athletes from the Bemidji State football team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Football Team on Tuesday.

Redshirt junior linebacker Colton Hinrichs, fifth-year senior defensive tackle Marco Cavallaro, senior wide receiver Brice Peters, fifth-year senior center Jake Gannon, redshirt sophomore defensive back Caden Bolte, redshirt junior wide receiver Drayton Lehman, redshirt junior offensive lineman Conor Kovas and senior quarterback Sam McGath were each named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. Hinrichs, Cavallaro, Peters and Gannon will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America finalists ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America Honorees will be announced Jan. 28, 2025.

The 2024 Academic All-District Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
