Toledo, Ohio is basically the DMZ of the state with the city having split loyalties between the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes. The maize and blue tend to have more luck securing top talent from that city than from others within the Buckeye State.
The Wolverines are certainly hoping that’s the case for an elite defensive back from Central Catholic.
The last player that Michigan got from Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic was former four-star offensive lineman James Hudson, who ended up finishing his career at Cincinnati. But the Wolverines are in on four-star cornerback Victor Singleton, who the staff has made a priority in 2026. Michigan made the cut along with Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Illinois.

Of course, the Wolverines tried hard to secure a duo of Ohio-based cornerbacks in the 2024 class only to be rebuffed in favor of OSU. Certainly, the maize and blue hope that won’t be the case for Singleton.
Ohio State is the perceived favorite at this juncture.
