Nebraska football has received a prediction for Houston wide receiver Jonah Wilson. The projections were put in by On3’s Sean Callahan and Bryan Munson.
Wilson recorded nine catches for 58 yards last season as a freshman for the Cougars. He was a four-star prospect and was the 36th overall wide receiver in the 2023 class. He was the 48th overall player in his class from the state of Texas per the 247Sports Rankings.
The Huskers have addressed the wide receiver position in the transfer portal over these past couple of weeks. They currently have 16 transfers in a class that ranks sixth overall per the 247Sports transfer rankings. Three of those transfers are wide receivers, as Nyziah Hunter, Dane Key, and Hardley Gilmore IV make up the trio.
Wilson measures in at six-foot-two, 200 pounds. Nebraska has been going after big-bodied receivers in this transfer portal cycle. It’s clear that wide receiver coach Daikiel Shorts and offensive coordinator Dana Holgerson want wideouts with size. Both coaches are looking for a certain type of wide receiver in terms of athletic makeup, and it’s clear what they’re looking for.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Wilson’s recruitment. So far, it appears as though the Huskers are in the driver’s seat here.
