Notre Dame beat the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-24 in the Capital One Orange Bowl to advance to the national championship game.
These are the five impact plays from the Fighting Irish’s victory over the Nittany Lions in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
You can probably guess number one.

Notre Dame’s kicking game has struggled all year. The worst field-goal unit in the country, as the ESPN broadcast continually reminded us. Most of those struggles were due to kicker Mitch Jeter’s injury. Now that he’s back healthy, the Irish needed Jeter to kick a potential game-winning field goal or go to overtime. Which he did. The Irish are headed to Atlanta.

Mitch Jeter doesn’t even get the chance to make that kick if Christian Gray doesn’t pick off an errant Drew Allar pass.
