Win this game and you’re playing for the national title. That’s what’s on the line for the Texas Longhorns Friday night as they take on the red-hot Ohio State Buckeyes.
Texas is a 6-point underdog against the Buckeyes, the first time all year the Longhorns are the underdog. But Texas may have some built in advantages. The snowstorm that hit the Dallas area Thursday may have limited the amount of Ohio State fans that could make it to AT&T Stadium.
The Horns also have by far the shortest travel distance to their CFP semifinal than any of the other three teams, including Ohio State.
Texas will be playing in its record 23rd Cotton Bowl. The Horns are also in the CFP semifinals for the second straight year. The only team of the four semifinalists to return to the final four.
If the Longhorns beat Ohio State, they will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who beat the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-24 on a late field goal in the Orange Bowl.
