Purdue football signs former 4-star Auburn edge rusher out of transfer portal

Purdue football added to its pass rush on Saturday — this time with a high-upside prospect from the SEC.

The Boilermakers announced the signing of T.J. Lindsey on Saturday. The former Auburn edge rusher, who recently visited, becomes the 28th known addition out of the transfer portal since Barry Odom came on as coach.

Lindsey was a four-star prospect ranked No. 324 overall in the 247 Sports composite for the 2024 class out of IMG Academy — a Florida school with a national reputation for developing players. He played only 10 snap in one game against Alabama A&M during a redshirt freshman season.

He joins CJ Nunnally IV (Akron) and Breeon Ishmail (Michigan) as edge rusher additions via the portal. Purdue needed an influx of talent there to offset the departures of Kydran Jenkins, Shitta Sillah and Jireh Ojata from completing their eligibility and Will Heldt’s transfer to Clemson.

Lindsey also recently visited another Big Ten program, Nebraska.

Of the prospects added via the transfer portal, 14 came directly from other power conference programs, and a few others started their careers with one.
