Georgia wide receiver Dominic Lovett (6) pulls in a pass from Georgia quarterback Carson Beck (15) for a touchdown during the second half of a NCAA college football game against Georgia Tech in Athens, Ga., on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024.
Georgia Bulldogs receiver Dominic Lovett announced his intention to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, he announced on Instagram. He had no eligibility left, so this announcement is all but a formality.
Lovett originally committed to the SEC rival Missouri Tigers in 2020. The four-star recruit immediately had an impact at Missouri, with 173 yards on 26 carries and a rushing touchdown. As a sophomore, Lovett expanded on those numbers with 846 yards and three touchdowns on 56 receptions.
In the 2022 offseason, he transferred to the Georgia Bulldogs, where the sky was the limit on his potential, but he never matched that excellent 2022 season again. In two years with the Bulldogs, Lovett totaled 1,220 yards and 10 touchdowns on 113 receptions. He became a great red-zone threat, but he was a part of the Georgia receiving core that led the nation in drops during the 2024 season.
Lovett is one of 13 Georgia players declaring for the NFL draft. Georgia is also losing receivers Anthony Evans III, Michael Jackson II and Rara Thomas to the transfer portal.
Georgia is earning traction from the transfer portal at receiver, though. The Bulldogs picked up Zachariah Branch from USC and Noah Thomas from Texas A&M.
