Missouri State football lands three-star RB, who once held Oregon, Arkansas offers

King Davis, a three-star running back out of Miami, announced his commitment to Missouri State football.

Davis announced his commitment in an X post on Saturday afternoon.

Davis is a 5-foot-9, 175-pound back who played this past season at Miami Northwestern High School. He was offered scholarships by power conference programs early in his career, but his recruitment slowed ahead of his senior year. He was offered by the Bears last month.

Oregon, Arkansas, Louisville, Indiana, Ole Miss and Central Florida are among the schools that offered him at one point.

Davis led Miami Northwestern to a state championship victory in 2024, rushing for 803 yards on 11.3 yards per carry with eight touchdowns.

Davis is the first running back to commit to the Bears’ 2025 class. They previously received a commit from Navarro (juco) back Clay Thevenin, who flipped to sign with Conference USA rival Louisiana Tech.

The Bears are desperate for ball carriers heading into the 2025 season. Jacardia Wright has graduated, and Jaylen Becks, who is transferring to North Texas, has left. With Davis being a younger, quicker back, the Bears should be in pursuit of a three-down back.

King Davis 247 ranking

Davis is ranked as a three-star running back, according to the 247Sports Composite Ranking. He is the No. 120 high school running back in the nation.
