Transfer portal season is wrapping up. A few more names will enter, and some blue-chip players remain on the board, but most of the action is behind us.
LSU football lost a handful of players to the portal. Most of the losses were depth pieces. Brian Kelly and the staff did a good job when it came to retaining impact players.
According to 247Sports, 19 Tigers hit the portal after the 2024 season. Sixteen of them have found homes, the most recent commitment being cornerback Bernard Causey, who joined Georgia State on Saturday.
That leaves just three LSU players looking for a portal destination:
WR Landon Ibieta
DL De’Myrion Johnson
DL Jalen Lee
This group may be waiting until the spring to commit. There will be another portal window, which could leave some teams needing depth at wide receiver or defensive line. That means Ibieta, Johnson, and Lee may have more options in May than they do now.
Ibieta and Johnson both have several years of eligibility left and had multiple Power Four offers coming out of high school. Lee will be on his third stop after beginning his career at Florida and transferring to LSU, but he dealt with injuries in Baton Rouge.
All four have P4 ceilings, but they may be looking for immediate playing time at a lower level.
