Notre Dame loses one starter, but has two that will play vs. Ohio State

.

Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman met with the media on Sunday afternoon, and he gave an update on a few injured players via The Athletics Pete Sampson.

Unfortunately, freshman All-American offensive tackle Anthonie Knapp will be out for the College Football Playoff championship game against Ohio State. Charles Jagusah, who was injured in the preseason, made his first appearance of the year against Penn State, and could fill in the spot he was expected to have at the beginning of the year.

As for two offensive skill position players, Freeman expects star running back Jeremiyah Love and wide receiver Beaux Collins to both play against the Buckeyes.

Another tidbit about the health of the team is that the flu bug hit Notre Dame ahead of the matchup with the Nittany Lions. Freeman does not think this will be a factor against Ohio State, as he said that about half of the roster has already had it.
