Penn State DB Jalen Kimber declares for 2025 NFL draft

Penn State is seeing another key member of the defense head off to the NFL. On Sunday, Penn State cornerback Jalen Kimber announced he will declare for the 2025 NFL draft rather than return for another season with the Nittany Lions.

Kimber spent one season in Happy Valley after transferring to the Penn State program from Florida (he also spent time at Georgia prior to Florida). Kimber appeared in all 16 games played by Penn State during the 2024 season, including the Big Ten championship game and three games in the College Football Playoff. He started 15 of those 16 games. Kimber recorded 37 tackles with 1.0 TFL and a few pass breakups mixed in.

Kimber is one of three players in Penn State’s secondary leaving eligibility behind to enter the NFL draft. He joins Kevin Winston Jr. and Jaylen Reed, who each anoucned their intentions to enter the draft. Edge rusher Abdul Carter is also leaving Penn State early to enter the NFL draft.
