Updating Texas A&M’s men’s rankings in college basketball polls following Alabama loss

A week that included a hard-fought win over the Oklahoma Sooners, followed by a tough loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, had Texas A&M men’s basketball ranked 11th in both the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and AP Top 25.

After going undefeated in December to close out nonconference play, A&M has opened up the new year 2-1 against its tough SEC conference foes. With wins over the rival Longhorns and scrappy Sooners, the Aggies finally dropped a game to snap their nine-game winning streak.

It doesn’t get much easier for A&M. Next up for the Aggies is a road test against Kentucky, followed by a home matchup against LSU.

Despite the loss, the Aggies are viewed favorably nationally so far this season. The Aggies enter the second week of conference play as the best team in the country in offensive rebounding, collecting 17 a game. Guard Wade Taylor IV is the leading scorer at 15.4 points per game but has missed the past two games and three total this season.
