Loveland hires Bob Mullins as next head football coach

Loveland High School has hired Bob Mullins to be its next head football coach, Loveland Athletic Director Jayson Bruce told The Enquirer on Monday afternoon.

Loveland has chosen Bob Mullins as its next head football coach.

In May 2024, Loveland’s head coach Andy Cruse left the program to become the tight ends coach at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. On June 7, 2024, Loveland announced the promotion of former defensive backs and special teams coach Brian Damewood to the vacated head job.

Loveland went 3-7 and finished tied for sixth place in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference in 2024. In the Tigers’ final game of the season, on Oct. 25, they lost to Anderson 49-23, the only team to put up more than 21 points on Anderson before the state semifinal. On Nov. 19, Loveland announced that it was looking for a new head varsity football coach.

The Tigers won the Division II state championship in 2013 in their fourth season ever making the playoffs and their first since 2002. Since then, they have made the playoffs just twice, in 2022 and 2023.
