Alabama football loses 2027 in-state defensive end commitment. What to know

As Alabama football turns its attention to the 2026 recruiting class, the Crimson Tide lost one of its three commitments in the 2027 class.

Ba’Roc Willis, a four-star defensive end out of Moody, Alabama, announced Wednesday he would end his commitment to the Crimson Tide after committing to Alabama back on July 30.

“(All) love Bama fam,” Willis posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Wednesday. “Please respect my decision.”

Willis, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound edge rusher out of Moody High School, is listed as the No. 57 player, the No. 9 edge rusher and the No. 4 Alabama prospect per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Alabama has two commitments in the 2027 class: four-star Mobile edge Jabarrius Garror and Marietta, Georgia athlete Alexander Ward.

The Crimson Tide has one commitment in 2026: Gadsden four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson. Alabama lost a commitment from Birmingham four-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland in December.
