Flag football in Arizona continues to gain exposure on a national level.
Chandler Hamilton senior defensive back and wide receiver Trinity Smith and wide receiver and linebacker Mikayla Allen have been selected to represent Arizona in a high school flag football showcase at the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games in Orlando on Feb. 1.
The rosters, comprised of senior players, were announced on Friday by the NFL.
Hamilton is coming off the first undefeated season in state history, capped by winning the 6A championship. The selection of Smith and Allen is a big moment for the Husky program, as well as the state as a whole.
“It highlights how competitive the entire state of Arizona is, with two of our best seniors being represented on a national stage that not only people in Arizona will pay attention to, but hopefully the rest of the country will see the quality of flag football athletes that we put out,” said Hamilton coach Matt Stone.
Last season on the way to a 17-0 record, Smith was one of the key pieces for Hamilton’s secondary that allowed just four passing touchdowns the whole season. Smith finished with 49 flag pulls and was tied for the second-most interceptions on the team with five.
Allen was one of the top targets for freshman quarterback Marlie Phillips on offense, hauling in 59 receptions for 515 yards and nine touchdowns.
The NFL is using its platform and live game coverage of the 2025 Pro Bowl Games to drive awareness following the inaugural year of the USA TODAY Super 25 flag football rankings. Hamilton finished No. 3 in those final national rankings for the 2024 season.
