The New York Jets will be looking for a new head coach in 2025 after the Robert Saleh regime failed to produce a winning season, let alone a playoff berth in four seasons.
Jets Wire will break down each candidate that receives an interview detailing their experience as well as the highs and the lows of their coaching careers. In the end we’ll determine if the candidate is worth a shot or if the Jets should pass for something better.

Locksley has never coached in the NFL before. Prior to joining Maryland as their head coach, he spent three years at Alabama ultimately becoming their offensive coordinator. He’s been with the Terrapins since 2019 and after a rough first two seasons (5-12, 3-11 Conference Record combined), Maryland showed signs of improvement in 2021.
Locksley had his first winning season in 2021 as the Terps finished with a 7-6 record and his first bowl victory, 54-10 over Virginia Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl. That was enough to get Locksley a contract extension worth $21 million through 2026.
Maryland built off their 2021 season by going 8-5 in 2022 and Locksley’s second straight bowl victory, this time over NC State in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. He was the first coach at Maryland to be bowl eligible for two straight seasons since 2007-2008.
