Texas football tight end Amari Niblack is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.
Niblack arrived at Texas last offseason as a transfer from Alabama. He didn’t see the field much, playing just 90 snaps behind Gunnar Helm (who declared for the NFL) and Juan Davis, who got most of the workload.
He’d played 358 snaps at Alabama the prior season, catching 20 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns.

His departure leaves the Longhorns with 86 snaps worth of career experience in their tight end room leading into 2025. Those came from Spencer Shannon ‒ a second-year player and former three-star prospect ‒ and Jordan Washington, a four-star 2024 signee who saw limited playing time as a true freshman.
Texas signed one tight end in its 2025 class. Emaree Winston was rated as a three-star prospect out of Calhoun, Georgia.
