Titans assistant to get a closer look at Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders at Shrine Bowl

A member of the Tennessee Titans coaching staff will get up close and personal with one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL draft.

Payton McCollum, an offensive assistant for the Titans, was selected as the quarterbacks coach for the West Team in the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl. He’ll work with Colorado star Shedeur Sanders, among others, in the lead up to the college football all-star game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Jan. 30 (7 p.m. CT, NFL Network).

Tennessee holds the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and Sanders is considered to be one of the top two quarterback prospects that have declared for April’s draft.

Should the Titans decide to move on from quarterback Will Levis after two seasons, they’re in a prime position to select Sanders – or another quarterback – with the top pick.

Going into Shrine Bowl week, it’s clear Tennessee is serious about taking advantage of the opportunity to get extra eyes on Sanders. Along with McCollum, coach Brian Callahan will also attend the Shrine Bowl to make his own evaluation of Sanders, according to reports.
