ATLANTA — Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman walks by a statue of Knute Rockne each time he enters Notre Dame Stadium.
Freeman’s locker room speeches have become viral viewing this season, thanks to an in-house documentary showing on Peacock and social media clips. Sunday morning, however, Freeman did his best to tamp down expectations about the pregame talk he will give ahead of the CFP national championship on Monday night against Ohio State.
“Probably the last thing on our mind is what we’re going to say to them pregame is going to help them win the game,” Freeman said at a joint news conference with counterpart Ryan Day. “For us to come out before the game and say, ‘You have to do something different tonight that didn’t help you get to this point’ is crazy.”

Added sophomore wideout Jaden Greathouse: “It’s going to be awesome. We had a great game against Georgia Tech there, and I definitely think as a team we like being there in that stadium. It’s a great place to be, and there’s no bigger game for it.”
