New Braunfels Canyon DB commits to Texas Tech football team

The Texas Tech football team picked up its third commitment for the 2026 recruiting class on Saturday, getting a pledge from New Braunfels Canyon defensive back Luke Bell.

Bell, listed at 6-foot and 175 pounds, played in five games this season for a Class 6A team that finished 8-5. He was credited with 38 tackles, including four tackles for loss. He also had three pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble.

The Red Raiders’ first two pledges for the 2026 class were Georgetown East View linebacker Tieson Ejiawoko (6-3, 226) and Mount Pleasant defensive tackle Ayden Johnson (6-1, 315).

On Friday, Tech announced the Red Raiders will start spring practice on March 10 and play the annual spring game on April 19 at Jones AT&T Stadium. The game time and other details will be announced later.

All workouts except the spring game are closed to the public. The Red Raiders will work out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday the first week, before the university’s spring break, then resume on March 25 and go each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday thereafter. NCAA rules allow each team 15 spring football sessions.
