The Arizona State Sun Devils closed the 2024 college football season as a Top 10 team in most end-of-season rankings and polls.
Where will they be ranked to open the 2025 season?
Many sites have released their way-too-early college football 2025 rankings, which offer a sneak peek at how the polls could turn out at the beginning of next season and where Kenny Dillingham’s team, which went 11-3 in the 2024 season, could be ranked.
Will the Sun Devils be a Top 10 team to start 2025? We’re not sure. But there is one thing for certain. ASU football won’t be ranked last in the Big 12 to start the season after being picked to finish that way at the beginning of the 2024 season and going on to win the conference and earning a berth in the 12-team College Football Playoff.

USA TODAY Sports: ASU football ranked No. 10 in early Top 25 for 2025
Paul Myerberg and Erick Smith write: “Only a questionable targeting no-call and fourth-and-13 conversion kept the Sun Devils from the playoff semifinals. It was simply a remarkable campaign that has Kenny Dillingham looking to build on the surprising success that included a Big 12 title. While RB Cam Skattebo departs, QB Sam Levitt is ready to assume more control on the offense. Getting back WR Jordyn Tyson to full health will be critical after a knee injury ended his season prematurely. The defense has all-conference picks Xavion Alford and C.J. Fife to anchor the unit.”
FOX Sports: Sun Devils at No. 10 in way-too-early Top 25
RJ Young writes: “The Sun Devils get back their Big 12 Coach of the Year in Kenny Dillingham and Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in Sam Leavitt following a Big 12 Championship and bid to the CFP.”
