Arizona State football had a remarkable season, going 11-3 overall, winning the Big 12 Championship and nearly upsetting Texas in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
According to coach Kenny Dillingham, it was a Top-5 worthy season.
The Arizona State coach voted his Sun Devils No. 5 in the final US LBM Coaches Poll, with Arizona State only behind No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Texas and No. 4 Penn State on his ballot as a coach voting in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
ASU finished No. 7 in the final US LBM poll, coming in behind No. 1 Ohio State, Notre 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Oregon, No. 5 Penn State and No. 6 Georgia.

Coaches who ranked ASU football highest in US LBM Coaches Poll
Dillingham wasn’t the only coach to put ASU at No. 5. James Madison’s Bob Chesney, Washington’s Jedd Fisch and Kansas State’s Chris Klieman also ranked the Sun Devils in that spot on their ballots, their highest position.

Coaches who ranked ASU football lowest in US LBM Coaches Poll
Five coaches had ASU at No. 10 in their final ballot: Air Force’s Troy Calhoun, Louisiana Tech’s Sonny Cumbie, Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea, San Diego State’s Sean Lewis and Army’s Jeff Monken.
But two coaches had the Sun Devils ranked No. 11 in the poll, their lowest ranking. The coaches? Miami Ohio’s Chuck Martin and Georgia’s Kirby Smart.
