Jeff Brohm’s second year as Louisville football’s head coach had its fair share of sour moments.
The Cardinals’ defense seemed to have taken a step back, and the team lost to a two-win Stanford squad. But recency bias put everything in perspective: U of L ended the season with three of its best wins to record a 9-4 overall mark, the first time since 2013-14 that the program has had back-to-back seasons of at least nine wins. The Cardinals’ 35-34 Sun Bowl win over Washington was Brohm’s first postseason victory with the Cardinals after losing the ACC championship game to Florida State and the Holiday Bowl to USC in 2023.
Louisville will, once again, have large turnover heading into 2025. But Brohm has already gone to work and secured several key transfer portal additions to maintain momentum heading into his third year at the helm.
