Recruiting: Fort Myers’ Madrid Tucker among Florida’s top unsigned players in 2025 class

Madrid Tucker’s recruiting picked up at a most unexpected time.

The Fort Myers multi-sport athlete picked up a pair of Power 4 offers — North Carolina and West Virginia — more than a month after the early December signing period.

Most Power 4 programs try to have their high school signing classes wrapped up in December, but North Carolina and West Virginia opted to wait until after the early signing period to fill their coaching vacancies.

North Carolina made the biggest splash of the offseason by bringing in legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick. West Virginia brought back Rich Rodriguez 17 years after he left the program after winning 60 games from 2001-07.

Regardless of the circumstances, Tucker is reaping the benefits of those programs looking to fill out their 2025 classes.

The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder caught 36 passes for 686 yards and eight touchdowns and added 42 carries for 383 yards and five touchdowns on offense. Tucker also had 43 tackles, two interceptions, six passes defended, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for the Green Wave in 2024.

While most the state’s top senior football players signed in December, Tucker is one several players who remain unsigned heading into National Signing Day on Feb. 5.

Here are some of the notable unsigned Florida players in the 2025 class.

Deandre Desinor (Atlantic RB)

The No. 63 player on the USA Today Florida Network top 100, Desinor opted not to sign with West Virginia during the early signing period and flipped his commitment to NC State in December. Desinor rushed for 711 yards and eight touchdowns and caught 28 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns.

Jett White (Edison CB)

Ranked No. 65 on the USA…
