The nice folks at came up wit a list of all the starting quarterbacks in the Power Four for 2025. Lots of work and some educated guessing involved.

In the Big Ten, Illinois’ Luke Altmyer is among the most accomplished at his current school. He is coming off a 10-win season that wouldn’t have happened without his skills and leadership. And he figures to get better in 2025.

When Illinois coach Bret Bielema looks at the league list, there isn’t another player he would rather have than his guy.

Oh sure, Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. was among the league passing leaders in 2024, but that was at Maryland. Now, he has to learn a new system and get used to new teammates. Unlikely the numbers climb.

Penn State’s Drew Allar figures to be Altmyer’s primary rival for All-Big Ten honors.

Allar just helped the Nittany Lions reach the College Football Playoff semifinal. Once there, he watched as the Irish beat his team to earn a spot in the final. Small steps for Penn State, which was making its first CFP appearance.

Other than Altmyer and Allar, there are important questions that need to be answered about the other 16 starters,

Most of the guys are transfers from other programs. Indiana landed Carlos Mendoza from Cal. Iowa turned to the FCS for South Dakota State’s Mark Gronowski. Good luck with that.

Maryland turned to UCLA transfer Justyn Martin, former Fresno State starter Mikey Keene takes over at Michigan, Northwestern will try SMU transfer Preston Stone, Oregon is going with former UCLA starter Dante Moore, Purdue will start Arkansas transfer Malachi Singleton and UCLA gives the ball to Appalachian State transfer Joey Aguilar.

Nebraska got its first bowl bid in forever and a winning season with Dylan Raiola starting as a freshman. His production should improve substantially. Matt Rhule found his one-time…
