WESTWOOD — Xaverian Brothers High School encountered a celebrity sighting this afternoon when legendary New England Patriots coach and current University of North Carolina head coach, Bill Belichick, paid a visit to the Hawks football team.
The news was first reported by the Boston Herald’s Danny Ventura. The 72-year-old coach was making a recruiting visit to the two-time defending Division 1 MIAA champs
The Xaverian football X account shared their appreciation to the renowned coach, thanking him for “stopping by Clapboardtree St to visit with our Hawks.”
The post tagged Belichick’s account, as well as UNC’s assistant director of player personnel Andrew Blaylock.
Belichick’s visit comes just after the Hawks played on the coach’s old stomping grounds.
Xaverian Brothers claimed the Div. 1 state championship, marking the program’s 12th title, after beating Needham at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 5.
