Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins declares for 2025 NFL Draft

Ohio State will be replacing both of its leading rushers from 2024.

RB Quinshon Judkins told ESPN on Friday that he’s declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Judkins scored three touchdowns in Ohio State’s 34-23 national championship game victory against Notre Dame on Monday night and had the option to return to the Buckeyes for one more season.

“My time here at Ohio State was like no other,” Judkins told ESPN in a phone interview. “It was like no other place I’ve ever been. I enjoyed my time here so much. I’m ready to take the next step in my journey and prove I’m best running back in the draft class.”

Judkins transferred to Ohio State from Ole Miss ahead of the 2024 season to form one of the best running back duos in the country with TreVeyon Henderson after Henderson decided to return for the 2024 season. Both backs broke the 1,000-yard mark this season as Judkins lead the team with 1,060 yards and Henderson had 1,016 yards.

They combined for 27 total TDs as Judkins had 14 rushing and two receiving scores. He scored twice on the ground on Monday night and also caught a TD pass in the waning seconds of the first half.

Judkins rushed 11 times for 100 yards in the national title game thanks to a 70-yard run in the first half. He had 17 carries for 85 yards against Oregon in the Rose Bowl, but had just 19 combined carries for 70 yards in playoff wins over Tennessee and Texas.

Judkins was a breakout star at Ole Miss as a freshman in 2022. He rushed for over 100 yards in eight games and carried 274 times for 1,567 yards and 16 TDs. His numbers declined in 2023 as he rushed 271 times for 1,158 yards and 15 scores.

Ohio State had already moved to prepare itself for the departures of Henderson and Judkins during the winter transfer portal as the Buckeyes got a commitment from West Virginia RB CJ Donaldson after the regular…
