Browns meet with Shedeur Sanders, reportedly ask him to not practice at Shrine Bowl

It should come as no surprise the Cleveland Browns reportedly met with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders at the Shrine Bowl.

He’s one of the draft’s top-two quarterbacks, the Browns need one and they have the No. 2 pick. Beyond that, it’s just natural for the team to meet with the draft’s top players, especially in an all-star game setting like the Shrine Bowl.

East-West Shrine Bowl: 5 potential targets for Cleveland Browns not named Shedeur Sanders

The interesting twist is that the top three teams picking in the draft — the Browns at No. 2, the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 and the New York Giants at No. 3 — all asked Sanders to not participate in Shrine practices this week, according to Charles McDonald of Yahoo Sports.

Shrine Bowl practices began on Saturday with Sanders sitting them out. But there are plenty of other potential Browns prospects to watch.

Teams put greater value in the practice sessions than during the game itself, which has limits on things like pass coverage and blitzing.

When is the Shrine Bowl 2025?

The Shrine Bowl takes place Thursday in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium.
