Mike Norvell faced a tall task on the recruiting trail after a wave of dismissals in the back half of the 2024 season and a 2-10 final record.
Although Florida State lost coveted offensive lineman Solomon Thomas to LSU, their commitment from top EDGE Javion Hilson, and three other marquee recruits to Florida, the Seminoles still did more than their fair share of flipping that produced a competitive 2025 class — especially during the early signing period.
Ousmane Kromah (Georgia commit), LaJesse Harrold (LSU commit), Jayvan Boggs (UCF commit), Tylon Lee (Ole Miss commit), and Tae’shaun Gelsey (Florida commit), are just a few of the rabbits pulled from Norvell’s hat between Dec. 4-6, and others came either shortly before or after. Rounding out a staff and tapping Gus Malzahn for the offensive coordinator role certainly helped his cause.

The Seminoles still hold two commitments that have yet to sign. Chaves Thompson, a three-star offensive tackle from Cocoa, along with Antonio Cromartie Jr., a three-star Carrolton (Ga.) cornerback, are expected to round out Norvell’s 2025 class.
Despite a nightmare scenario of a season for Norvell, he still managed to land the No. 20 class on 247Sports. The Seminoles sit one spot above Missouri and one behind Georgia Tech in the 247Sports Composite ranking, and have the third-best class in the ACC behind the Yellow Jackets and Miami (No. 14 overall).
With the Feb. 5 National Signing Day approaching, here is a look at the Seminole’s 2025 class.
