The Senior Bowl is one of the tentpole events of the pre-NFL draft process, pitting many of the top prospects against each other in front of the eyes of a sea of coaches and decision makers.
While the game will kickoff Saturday in Mobile, Ala., it’s the Senior Bowl practices that matter most. That’s where NFL coaches — including the Miami Dolphins’ Lemuel Jeanpierre — get to see how players handle instruction and take a look at how they fare in one-on-one battles against fellow collegiate all-stars.
On Tuesday, the practices got underway with players like Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard, Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe out on the field in Mobile. Here’s who stood out most on the first day of 2025 Senior Bowl work:
TE Elijah Arroyo (Miami)

Arroyo is a player South Beach football fans may be familiar with, but he announced himself to many others Tuesday with an impressive showing in the National Team practice. The 6’5, 251-pound tight end moved like a player much lighter than that as he stretched the field and couldn’t be covered by linebackers in one-on-one drills Tuesday.
OL Grey Zabel (North Dakota State)

While it’s an FCS school, North Dakota State has proven plenty capable of sending NFL-ready talent to the pro ranks. Zabel looked like he was ready to be the latest Bison success story. The 6’5, 316-pound offensive lineman, who played left tackle as a senior at NDSU, dominated against high level competition at multiple spots on the interior Tuesday.
