Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to reporters for a Zoom press conference on Monday. He shared his first thoughts on the Philadelphia Eagles and their many offensive weapons ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

“We understand that we’ve got a big challenge ahead of us coming up with the Eagles,” said Reid. “They’re (in the Super Bowl) for a reason: because they’re a good football team, and so we’ve got to make sure that we keep everything together and work to get a nice plan together for this group.”

Philadelphia enters Super Bowl LIX after an impressive 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in their NFC Championship matchup.

“Those receivers have been in the offense for a while, and they’ve got good tight ends. They’ve got good receivers, I mean, real good receivers,” said Reid. “They’ve got a running back (Saquon Barkley) that, you know, arguably is one of the best in the history of the game. And their offensive line, for all those guys to work, their offensive line has to be good, too. So, and then their quarterback (Jalen Hurts) is dialing it up right now. So, whatever injuries he had early in the season, I mean, he’s playing like crazy right now. So that’s a heck of an offense, another huge challenge for us.”

Saquon Barkley has exploded onto the scene in Philadelphia, recording 442 rushing yards and five touchdowns over three postseason games. He finished the regular season with 2,005 yards rushing, becoming only the ninth running back in NFL history to reach that mark in a season.
