Indiana football cornerback Jamier Johnson no longer with the program

BLOOMINGTON —  Indiana football corner Jamier Johnson is no longer with the program, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Johnson wasn’t included in the updated 2025 roster the Hoosiers posted on their website Wednesday afternoon. He had 35 tackles (25 solo) with an interception in 10 starts for IU last season.

According to Pro Football Focus, he gave up 34 catches for 351 yards on 51 targets. He had the lowest overall coverage grade among IU’s starters.

He came to Indiana as part of former coach Tom Allen’s transfer haul in 2023. He was limited to four games that season while battling various injuries. The former four-star recruit opted to stay in Bloomington after the coaching change and won the starting job coming out of fall camp.

The Hoosiers still have plenty of depth at the position thanks to the moves they made in the winter portal window.

In addition to bringing back former freshman All-American D’Angelo Ponds and Jamari Sharpe, they signed Northern Illinois corner Amariyun Knighten and Pittsburgh corner Ryland Gandy, who both have starting experience.
