SOUTH BEND — Despite seven defections along the way, Notre Dame football still posted its fourth straight top-12 high school recruiting class of the Marcus Freeman era.
After a 24-player haul at the early signing date on Dec. 4, led by Canadian offensive tackle Will Black, Chicago defensive end Christopher Burgess Jr. and California linebacker Madden Faraimo, Notre Dame’s Class of 2025 has held steady ahead National Signing Day on Feb. 5.

Where does Notre Dame football’s signing class rank?
According to 247 Sports Composite, Notre Dame’s high school Class of 2025 ranks 12th nationally. That places the Irish just ahead of USC and Miami and just behind Tennessee and Florida.
The trendline for Notre Dame since Freeman was promoted from defensive coordinator to replace Brian Kelly in early December of 2021 looks this way: the No. 7 class in 2022, No. 12 class in 2023 and No. 9 class in 2024.
