High school football season in Cincinnati has been officially over for nearly two months now, but the area coaching carousel is still spinning, though maybe a bit slower than it was a month ago.
About a half-dozen Cincinnati schools have filled head football coaching openings so far, and more are to come.
So far, here are the head coaching moves that have been made around Cincinnati:
Who is Colerain’s football coach in 2025?
Out: Carl Huber, resigned after two winless seasons.
In: Jordan Stevens, most recently head coach at Mount Healthy.
Mount Healthy head coach Jordan Stevens successfully turned around the Owls football program and now hopes to do the same at Colerain, which is coming off back-to-back winless seasons.
Previously one of Cincinnati’s most dominant football programs, Colerain has fallen on hard times in recent years. After winning at least a share of the Greater Miami Conference title every season from 2000 to 2019, going undefeated in-conference from 2008 to 2019 and winning a state title in 2004, the Cardinals are coming off two winless seasons in 2023 and 2024.
Jordan Stevens, shown in his early days as head coach at Mount Healthy, will be taking over a Colerain program that has bottomed out with back-to-back winless seasons.
Colerain’s reign of success came under two of the area’s iconic coaches. Kerry Coombs coached the team from 1991 to 2006 and later went on to coach for Ohio State, the Tennessee Titans, and most recently at the University of Cincinnati as the special teams and cornerbacks coach, where he was let go after the 2024 season. Tom Bolden took over at Colerain after Coombs left and coached the Cardinals until 2018.
