As announced Friday, the Colorado Buffaloes’ annual Black and Gold Day spring football game will be held April 19 at Folsom Field.
This year’s spring football game will be Colorado’s third under head coach Deion Sanders. In 2023, Coach Prime’s first spring game drew a record 47,277 fans to Folsom Field and was televised by ESPN. Last year’s edition saw 28,424 in attendance despite poor weather conditions.
April’s spring game will allow Colorado fans their first opportunity to watch quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis, wide receiver Quentin Gibson, offensive lineman Carde Smith and other incoming freshmen who’ve enrolled early. Lewis is expected to compete with Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter for Colorado’s starting quarterback job.
Colorado’s 2025 spring practice season will begin March 11.
Per CU, spring football game tickets will go on sale in mid-February. Time and television for the game are to be announced.
