Corpus Christi ISD announced Friday that Miller co-offensive coordinator Austin Menner has been named the next head football coach and athletic coordinator at King.
Menner replaces Doug Foster, who was reassigned within the district after last season ended. Foster was 7-42 leading King in five seasons.
Menner played in college at the Air Force Academy and Abilene Christian and Miller’s offense was among the highest-scoring units in the state in Class 5A Division II in 2024.
Menner also spent time as an assistant at South Garland High School prior to his time at Miller.
The Mustangs new leader holds degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and the University of North Texas.
“The committee appreciated Mr. Menner’s coaching experience and strong educational background,” CCISD superintendent Roland Hernandez said in a release. “We are excited to welcome coach Menner to the Mustang family and look forward to his leadership during this exciting time.”
King was 2-8 last season and 0-5 in District 14-5A Division II.
