The ACC came calling for Natick’s Will Wood.
The Xaverian sophomore received a scholarship offer from Syracuse, he posted on X and Instagram Thursday. It’s his fourth Division 1 offer and first from a Power Four (Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, SEC) school.
He also holds offers from East Carolina (the first to extend the offer), Rhode Island and UMass.
Wood started the entire season for the Hawks this fall and led them to their second consecutive state championship. He threw a touchdown pass on Xaverian’s first play that helped provide separation in a 14-7 win over Needham.
Wood threw for 1,726 passing yards with 23 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He also ran for another 280 yards and three scores.
He could be the second Xaverian quarterback to sign with a Power 4 program after his predecessor Henry Hasselbeck joined UCLA.

Syracuse finished 20th in the final AP poll of the season. The Orange won the Holiday Bowl over Washington State and posted a 10-3 record.
Syracuse’s head coach is Fran Brown, while their quarterbacks coach is Nunzio Campanile, who made the offer to Wood. Orange passing game coordinator Ross Douglas has ties to New England after working for he Patriots as a defensive assistant and wide receivers coach.
