Former Notre Dame Fighting Irish center Pat Coogan has committed to Indiana.
The Hoosiers had an opening at center after Mike Katic graduated. We previously reported Coogan would visit Indiana and Michigan.
Coogan anchored a stout Notre Dame offensive line and became known for his obscenity-laced pregame speeches, several of which were filmed during the Irish’s run to the national championship game. He graded out as one of Notre Dame’s best offensive linemen, according to Pro Football Focus.
The Irish will likely miss Coogan — the transfer portal has not been kind to Notre Dame’s offensive line overall, at least in terms of departures. At least the Irish won’t have to face him unless the two teams have 2024 College Football Playoff rematch.
