The Alabama Crimson Tide are back in Coleman Coliseum today as SEC play continues against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Alabama (18-3 overall, 7-1 SEC), ranked No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, will be looking for its fifth straight win in conference action after beating No. 13 Mississippi State 88-84 in a thriller in Starkville on Wednesday night. The Crimson Tide got a season-high 23 points from Chris Youngblood, who sank seven of 11 from behind the arc in the win over State.
Georgia (15-6, 3-5) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 61-50 win over South Carolina on Tuesday. Freshman sensation Asa Newell leads the Bulldogs with 15.2 points per game to go with seven rebounds. Newell had 17 points and 10 rebounds in Georgia’s win over the Gamecocks in Athens.
Alabama enters play at No. 6 in the NET rankings, up one spot from earlier this week. Georgia is No. 35 in the NET ranking. The Crimson Tide are No. 7 in the latest KenPom ratings.
