For the past two years, Jalen Milroe has been one of the most famous people in Alabama, someone whose visibility and name recognition surpasses even the most powerful individuals in the state.
Playing the highest-profile position for the Crimson Tide tends to have that effect.
After two seasons as Alabama’s quarterback, a time in which he helped usher the program through the transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer, Milroe appears to be headed to the next phase of his life and career. He declared for the 2025 NFL draft on Jan. 2 and offered what felt like a goodbye message on Instagram.
“Thank you, Alabama!” he wrote in a caption. “Forever Roll Tide!”
Even if the redshirt junior sticks with his decision and never again takes a snap for the Tide, he’ll have at least one final opportunity to play in the state he has called home the past few years.
On Saturday, Milroe will be taking part in the Senior Bowl, the annual Mobile-based all-star game for players who have completed their college eligibility.

Is Jalen Milroe playing in the Senior Bowl?
Milroe has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, a decision that was announced a day after his NFL draft declaration.
As of Jan. 23, Milroe was one of eight quarterbacks set to take part in the showcase, a group that also includes Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, Ohio State’s Will Howard and Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard. He was also one of five Alabama players, with defensive back Malachi Moore, defensive lineman Tim Smith, tight end CJ Dippre and punter James Burnip also joining him.
