Michigan football final 2025 target, Ty Haywood, sets commitment date

And then there was one.

Michigan football secured the bulk of its 2025 recruiting class in December during the early signing period, but one target remained. Though still committed to Alabama until mid-January, 2025 Denton (Tx.) Ryan four-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood started to look like a lean to the Wolverines after the maize and blue were able to up their name, image, and likeness and land five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood.

Haywood started trending to Michigan football, though Texas Tech and Florida State had both been pushing hard to overcome the momentum in Ann Arbor. But there was one final step: Michigan had to get him on campus, as he had never officially visited. Later in January, Haywood finally made his way to southeastern Michigan, and predictions started rolling in via the recruiting site, On3.

Trending heavily to Ann Arbor, with the February signing period set to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 5, Haywood would need to make a choice sooner than later. And it appears that date has finally been set.

According to On3 recruiting insider Chad Simmons, Haywood will be making his choice known on Monday, Feb. 3.

Michigan currently has 23 commitments in the 2025 class, headlined by two five-stars, quarterback Bryce Underwood and offensive tackle Andrew Babalola. Haywood had been a five-star according to most of the recruiting services until recently, but he’s since been downgraded to a high four-star with the final rankings updates — except on ESPN, where he remains the No. 16 overall recruit, regardless of position.

His lowest ranking comes via Rivals, where he’s No. 77 overall, just one spot below On3’s proprietary ranking of 76. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 42 player in the country, while the composite ranking has him at No. 39 overall. The top 25 players in the 247Sports Composite are ranked as…
