SEC football transfer portal class rankings

The NCAA’s winter transfer portal window is officially closed. No new college football players can enter the portal until the spring. The winter portal cycle is typically busier than the spring portal cycle, so we’ve already seen most of the transfer movement across the country.

The Georgia Bulldogs were active in the winter transfer window, but still have the fourth-fewest incoming transfers of any SEC football program. Instead of focusing on the transfer portal, Georgia relies primarily on recruiting and developing elite high school talent.

UGA used the portal to fill a few roster holes at wide receiver and safety, but the Bulldogs signed just six incoming transfers. Georgia could still target a back up quarterback, a pass rusher, and an offensive lineman this spring.

The SEC finished as the nation’s top recruiting conference in traditional recruiting, but is still a powerhouse in transfer portal recruiting. The SEC is home to six of the top 10 incoming transfer portal classes including the two top classes in the country (LSU and Ole Miss respectively).
