National team quarterback Dillon Gabriel of Oregon (8) talks with media members after Senior Bowl practice at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.
Dillon Gabriel’s final season of college football was a whirlwind of success as the quarterback led Oregon to a Big Ten Conference title, a Rose Bowl berth and a trip to New York in December as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
But the Ducks weren’t the only team he played for during a six-year college career.
On Saturday, Gabriel will also pay homage to Central Florida and Oklahoma with all three schools represented on his helmet for the Senior Bowl.
Gabriel’s custom helmet will have have the Duck wings on one side, the OU logo for the Sooners on the other and a UCF stripe down the middle.
“That’s not just me trying to be self-promoting, but you ask anyone I was around there and still maintaining great relationships,” Gabriel told ESPNU earlier this week. “I’d be a fool not to celebrate those three spots. They mean a lot to me and are a huge part of me being me.”
How long did Dillon Gabriel play for each school?
Gabriel spent his final season at Oregon and led the Ducks to a 13-1 record and No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.
He threw for 3,857 yards and 30 touchdowns, completed 72.9% of his passes and rushed for seven more scores. He finished third in the Heisman voting.
His career began at UCF where he played three seasons, started 26 games and threw for 8,037 yards, 70 TDs and 14 interceptions.
He transferred to Oklahoma for the 2022 and 2023 seasons where he combined to throw for 6,828 yards, 55 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
